EXTREMELY RARE/MINT CONDITION/ORIGINAL 1975 Columbia “Born To Run” Test Pressing with ’Script’ Cover
THE ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC, FIRST U.S. TEST PRESSING; NOT A REISSUE, IMPORT, OR BOOTLEG.
The Holy Grail of Bruce Springsteen collectibles.
Two of two-hundred pressings from Cerphe’s private collection. (The first one sold immediately. This is the last one!)
Dramatically different font, without any graphics, logos, or any other print except for Bruce Springsteen’s name and album title containing only Bruce's (and Clarence Clemons') photo on gatefold cover.
The labels are plain white and printed 'Advance Promotional' pressed by Columbia Records at the Pitman, NJ plant.
Less than 200 copies of this test pressing were made in 1975
The labels have no writing on them and are in Mint condition, the vinyl is NEAR MINT with no scratches showing only a few light paper scuffs. The gatefold is very clean with no writing and no major dings etc. or seam splits.
The album comes with a printed copy of the Columbia typewritten datasheet.
This original test pressing includes an orange postcard size promo card with song titles having "Meeting Across the River" billed as "The Heist.” The title of this song was changed last minute to “Meeting Across the River,” making this package even rarer.
Rock rarities don't get any rarer than this.
